Met Curator Killed in Train Crash

A commuter train crash last night outside of Manhattan took the life of the curator of European paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and five others. Walter Liedtke, an expert in Dutch and Flemish Paintings, joined the Met in 1980. He was author Vermeer: The Complete Paintings and other books. Walter Liedtke was 69.
