An article about dealer Frederick Klass Jr., the tv show American Pickers and the launch of the Highwood Street Market in Illinois is the top article for 2010 on Urban Art & Antiques. The site has also increased in popularity during the year, up 212 percent according to Google Analytics. A few people must have gotten the fortune in their cookie shown on the left!

One observation is the majority of the articles are about art. The exceptions are articles about Chinese porcelain and Depression Glass. Of course the top two articles deal with a popular television show.
We’s also like to recount the new experiences from 2010 including visits to the THETA show in Houston, the Winter Antique Show in New York, the Dolly Johnson Antique Show in Fort Worth, Antiques in Charlottesville, the HADA show in Houston, the Ralph Willard Antiques Show, the Randolph Street Market and the shows of Round Top, Texas. Visits to the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City,the Philbrook in Tulsa the Amon Carter and Kimbell Museum in Fort Worth, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Collection in Dallas, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Monticello, the new addition at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Timken Art Museum in San Diego, are all rewarding and memorable experiences.
There were also a number of notable auctions in 2010 and we particularly enjoyed getting to know people at the great Tuesday’s at Slocum and previews at Heritage Auctions in Dallas. We look forward to more in 2011. Best wishes for a great year to everyone.
