Record auction records are the backdrop as the country’s largest contemporary art fair, Art Basel Miami, opens this week. Art collectors are expected to continue the spending spree at the 13th edition of the event. Represented are 267 galleries from 31 countries showcasing thousands of artists. More than 75,000 are expected to attend the event at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It opens to the public December 4.
