Privileged Ignorance: An Opening at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center

Allison Proulx discovered a kinship with Dallas artist Maryanne Meltzer, who died in April. While they never met, their work hangs side-by-side in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Meltzer’s Strangers explore alienation and the concept of the stranger, while work by Proulx explores the luxury of being a consumer among an unseen and ignored undercurrent of turmoil, struggle and strife.
