Kelly Fearing (1918-2011) Artist, art educator and the University of Texas at Austin Professor Emeritus, Fearing has been described as a maverick of Texas modernism. A Fordyce, Arkansas native, Fearing studied art at Louisiana Tech University are later Columbia University. A member of the Fort Worth Circle, Fearing came to The University of Texas at Austin as the Ashbel Smith Professor of Art in 1947 and retired in 1987.
